Have you thoroughly researched your next big purchase?

If you are in the market for a large item (such as a LCD or Plasma TV), then when you buy it, how you buy it and how you research it makes a difference.  Before you commit to a purchase ask yourself the following questions:
  • Have you found where you can get the item the cheapest?  Have a shop around to find the cheapest price for this particular item.
  • Could the price be further reduced if I pay cash?
  • Is it likely that the item will be on sale in the near future?
  • Are there are models or options that are cheaper that would work just as well?
  • Have I researched and found the most appropriate and affordable option for me?
  • Can I barter on the price?
If you follow the above steps, you will be sure to get the best price for your next big item.  Remember to take your time when choosing it, and don't make a rushed on the stop decision.  This way you will enjoy your big purchase for years to come.

Also don't be afraid to barter.  This option is still available especially in a bad economy.
